Buxa Farm Chalets are three Norwegian style semi-detached chalets situated on the A964 between Houton and Stromness in Orphir. Each unit is single storey and includes ample parking, entrance porch, living area with spectacular views to Scapa Flow, well equipped kitchen open to dining area, 2 bedrooms (zip and link beds offer an option of king or twin beds) and bathroom with shower over bath. A colour television with Freeview channels and DVD player, radio and CD player, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer come as standard. Ramps, wide doors and lowered light switches make these units accessible for those with disabilities. There are no hidden charges as all electric, linens, towels etc. are included in the tariff. Free Wifi. For the sake of other visitors, we ask for no pets and no smoking in the chalets please.
The chalets are situated on 20 acres of waterfront property that is under the Rural Stewardship scheme to preserve bird life. There is a bird hide on the property to observe birds up close on the pond. A children’s playpark adjacent to the croft house provides hours of play for young ones. A dedicated walk with gates at top and bottom has been developed giving easy access to the shore without having to climb over barbed wire. Secure storage for bicycles and camping and fishing gear.
Buxa Farm Chalets are in a quiet spot with a countryside/beach feel, yet it is only a short drive from the two major towns of Stromness and Kirkwall and the major tourism attractions of Skara Brae and Maes Howe-a big bonus for those looking for the best of both worlds during their holiday stay. The most common complaint we get from visitors is that there just isn’t enough time to see everything in Orkney!

Payment Information
We require all guests to pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 per week to secure a booking, the balance being payable one month / 4 weeks before the date of arrival. Rent is payable in full at the time of booking for reservations made less than one month / 4 weeks before arrival.
