Thank you for your interest in 'Mountain View'. If you are disappointed to find that it is unavailable on your desired dates it may be of interest to you that we have another cottage in Corrie which will be ready for August 2013.
Like 'Mountain View', 'Cliff Cottage' has been in the family since the 1870s. It is in the heart of the village between 'the Port' and the church and is currently in the final stages of a complete renovation.
It sleeps 6 in three upstairs bedrooms - a double room , a family room (with can be configured with a super king bed and one single or three single beds) and a single room. All bedrooms have uninterrupted sea views. There is a shower room upstairs also.
On the ground floor there is a living/dining/kitchen and a sitting room,. Both public rooms have sea views and wood burning stoves. There is a bathroom and boot/utility room on this floor.
Mountain View
New in 2012 to the holiday cottage market, Mountain View has been extended and refurbished but still retains many of its original internal features.
During the early 1900s Mountain View was let each summer to Jessie M King, a well-known artist and book illustrator of the Art Nouveau period. She was a friend of the architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who is said to have come to Corrie to visit her in this house.
Mountain View is about 100 metres from the shore and the centre of the village where there is a hotel and a craft/coffee shop. It is also just a short walk from both of Corrie's harbours and the path to Goatfell and within easy access of Sannox beach, Corrie Golf Course and pony trekking.
