All three Hamilton Cottages are finished and maintained to the highest standard and the owners have tried to ensure that they are equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable self catering holiday on the magical Isle of Arran.Shepherd's Cottage has a spacious living room and dining room separated by a central feature fireplace. Also downstairs there is second cloakroom toilet and a modern and extremely well equipped kitchen.
The cottage is full of character and has a beautiful double height hall with a feature spiral stair to the upper floor which gives a wonderful feeling of space. Upstairs the cottage has two large double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a bath/shower room to suit a party of up to six. Being on the other side of the building, the cottage is separated from our main garden but as an added feature it has it’s own pergola covered patio garden. For your entertainment, Shepherd’s cottage has a 32 Inch high definition LCD TV, Satellite decoder and DVD player. There is also a mini Hifi CD payer and ipod docking station. The cottage also has Wifi broadband internet access.

Shedog lies about 9.5 miles from the main Ardrossan to Arran ferry terminal at Brodick and about 17 miles from the smaller Kintyre ferry at Lochranza. Shedog is a perfect base to allow you to make the most of your self catering holiday on Arran. Ideally situated for cycling, walking, bird watching, golfing, fishing, pony trekking or just relaxing! Within a few miles there are some of Arran’s best amenities and attractions. The picturesque harbour village of Blackwaterfoot is 1.75 miles away. Here you will find a beautiful beach, village shops, hotel (with bar, restaurant and swimming pool), Cairnhouse Riding Centre, tennis courts, all weather bowling greens and Shiskine golf club which has one of Arran’s most popular courses. The Balmichael Centre lies about 1.5 miles in the opposite direction. At Balmichael you will find something for everyone – quad biking, golf driving range, laser clay pigeon shooting, helicopter rides, children’s play areas, gift shops, pottery and tearoom. Machrie Moor with its impressive standing stones, Machrie golf course and Machrie beach are all within a few miles of us as is the lovely “Kings Cave” walk at Drumadoon.
