Stenigar was originally built around 1825 as a boat house and converted and redesigned in 1946  by the late Stanley Cursiter, painter, sculptor and director of the National Galleries of Scotland.  Located on the edge of Stromness, Stenigar has panoramic views, the beach on 2 sides, the golf course behind the house and the town a few minutes walk away.
